Wiki.js is a self-hosted wiki and documentation platform written in JavaScript on Node.js and released by Requarks.io under AGPL-3.0. It stores content in PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL Server or SQLite, and adds several editors, page version history, group permissions with page rules, and authentication modules such as LDAP, SAML 2.0 and generic OIDC. It targets teams and organisations that want their documentation on their own server, backed up or synced through storage modules such as Git. There is only one edition — the free self-hosted release — with no paid tier, no pricing page and no published user limit. Two caveats: the 3.0 line is beta and its own documentation says not to run it in production, so deployments stay on 2.5.x, and the vendor is dropping MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL Server and SQLite in the next major version.

- Limits
- Nothing is held back behind a paid tier: there is one free edition and no upgrade, seat or licence to buy. The real limits are technical. The 3.0 line is beta and its documentation states it must not be run in production, so deployments stay on 2.5.x, and several modules are still listed as Coming Soon rather than shipped: the WikiText (MediaWiki) editor, the API Docs editor, the Tabular editor, media players, the image editor, custom themes and personal cloud storage modules.

- Read js.wiki on 2026-09-21: the install section offers only self-hosting plus a DigitalOcean Marketplace image, there is no pricing page, and the footer says 'Released under the AGPL-v3 license'. The raw licence file (raw.githubusercontent.com/requarks/wiki/main/LICENSE) is the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 text and package.json declares "license": "AGPL-3.0"; the repository is active — its latest release is v2.5.315, published 2026-09-21. js.wiki/support lists community help, bug reporting and donations only. No hosted plan exists, so a managed-cloud edition was not invented.
