4gaBoards is a kanban board system for task tracking, served as a web app that updates in realtime without reloading the page. Work is organised in a hierarchy of projects, boards, lists, cards and tasks, with collapsible lists and a sidebar for larger boards. It includes a markdown editor, board export and import, Trello import, keyboard shortcuts and translated interfaces, and it can authenticate users through Google, GitHub, Microsoft or generic OIDC. Running it yourself means operating the application server and a PostgreSQL database, most often through the supplied Docker Compose file.

Trade-offs
- You run both the app and a PostgreSQL database, and must set the base URL, secret key and database credentials yourself. Source
- Restoring a backup needs the database password to match docker-compose, and the dump may have to be edited before restore. Source
- GitHub two-way sync is listed as coming soon, so it is not available now. Source
