Mautic
Marketing
Open source marketing automation for campaigns, segments, email, landing pages and forms, run on your own server.
Mautic is a self-hostable marketing automation platform covering campaigns, dynamic segments, email and landing page builders, forms, web tracking and lead scoring, with a REST API for custom integrations. It is aimed at marketing teams with technical resources, or in regulated environments, that want the contact data and the infrastructure under their own control. The free self-hosted edition is the whole GPL-3.0 product, including every feature. What is not included: hosting, an email sending service, deliverability tooling, maintenance, upgrades and vendor support — those are sold as Managed Mautic plans by the project's official hosting partner, not by the project itself.

Limits, notes & source
Mautic Community (self-hosted)
- Limits
- No hosted infrastructure, no email sending service, no maintenance or upgrades and no vendor support: the full stack runs on your own VPS or dedicated server, with your own SMTP or email service. Community security support ends per release and older versions need the paid Extended Long Term Support programme.
- Notes
- Licence read from the raw file on the default branch 7.x on 2026-09-21: the header reads 'Mautic - Open source marketing automation software / Copyright 2014 by the contributors / This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License ... either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version'; the file also lists bundled third-party components under their own licences. Marketplace plugins are separate code with their own terms. mautic.org states the self-host download is 'a copy including all features', so the free edition is the full product and no amount is recorded.

Managed Mautic Essential
- Limits
- Entry plan: up to 50K emails a month, up to 50K contacts, up to 100 emails per minute and a shared IP. Dedicated hosting, dedicated support and 2,000 emails per minute start at the Professional tier (from EUR 1237 a month); dedicated infrastructure, custom email provider, plugin support and SSO appear only on the custom-priced Enterprise tier.
- Notes
- Read on 2026-09-21: the page shows 'From €247.50/mo *' with the footnote '€247.50/mo when billed annually, €275/mo when billed quarterly'. The same page states 'These plans are offered by Dropsolid, our official trials and hosting partner', so this is partner-run hosting of the same GPL-3.0 core rather than a licence sold by the Mautic project; the plan is billed per instance, and the FAQ answers that there are no restrictions on the number of team members, so no seat count is recorded.
Managed Mautic Enterprise
- Limits
- No published price: the page states custom pricing. Adds dedicated infrastructure, a dedicated support manager, custom email provider and plugin support, enterprise-grade security with SSO, and usage limits up to 6M emails a month and up to 4,000 emails per minute.
- Notes
- Same official page, same partner. The only price information shown is the literal text 'Custom pricing' with a 'Talk to an expert' call to action: no amount, currency or billing period is published, so every price field is null rather than estimated. No user limit is stated for this tier either.
Pros & cons
Strengths
- The self-hosted download is the whole product: the site lists it as a copy including all features Source
- No contact-based pricing: the vendor's own comparison lists contact-based pricing as no and feature gating as none Source
- Rule-based dynamic segmentation, described by the vendor as rule-based, dynamic and unlimited Source
Trade-offs
- You supply email sending: SMTP is the default transport and no sending service is included in the free edition Source
- Shared hosting is not supported; the vendor states Mautic needs a VPS or dedicated server Source
- Self-installing assumes CLI, Apache or NGINX, MySQL or MariaDB, PHP configuration and cron job skills Source

- CaveatMautic keeps marketing automation at its core with only light built-in CRM, so pipeline and CRM features come from an external CRM integration.Source
- CaveatThe cost model changes: Mautic's comparison lists contact-based pricing as no, and prices scale with infrastructure and send volume instead.Source
- CaveatThe bundled HubSpot plugin is documented as pushing contacts from Mautic to HubSpot CRM on contact actions or point triggers, not the other way round.Source
